biography    

Amy Lynn Grable, lyric coloratura soprano, most recently performed with the Gwen Gould Ensembles as the soprano soloist for Verdi’s Requiem. In 2006 Ms. Grable portrayed the role of Valencienne in The Merry Widow, both with The Dicapo Opera Theatre of New York, as well as, the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. In 2005 she was the soprano soloist with the Omaha Symphony in Mozart’s Requiem. Other Opera Omaha credits include the role of "Sacagawea" from The Dream of the Pacific, co-commissioned for Opera Omaha and Opera Theatre St. Louis, soprano soloist in Faurè’s Requiem performed with the Omaha Symphony and the role of Annina, as well as "Violetta" cover for Opera Omaha’s production of La Traviata. She was also a selected finalist in Orlando Opera’s Heinz Rehfuss Singing Actor Competition.

Her opera credits include performances with Opera New England Cape Cod, Opera New Hampshire, Dicapo Opera Theatre NYC, Chatham Opera NJ, Opera Omaha, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Des Moines Metro Opera, Inspiration Point Opera in the Ozarks, Civic Opera of Kansas City and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory. She performed as a soloist with the Omaha Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, St. Joseph Symphony, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory Orchestra. In the summer of 2004 she participated in the Orlando, FL V.O.I.C.Experience program under direction of baritone Sherrill Milnes and Maria Zouves. In 2002, she traveled to Dierbach, Germany for further language study and performance opportunities.

Ms. Grable received both her MM and BM in Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Inci Bashar, Professor Emeritus. She was also an Associate Professor of Voice with the University of Missouri-Kansas City Academy of Music and Dance Education Department. Ms. Grable is currently working with voice teacher Bill Schuman and coaches Julia Chou and Nico Castel.

Recently, Ms. Grable was selected as a semi-finalist for the Loren Zachary Competition, as well as, a finalist for the Gerda Lissner Foundation Competition. In addition to winning the Grand Prize 2003 National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Award, Ms. Grable was the Alpha Corrine Mayfield Opera Performance Winner in 2003 from the National Federation Clubs. Both in 2003 and 2002, she was a Kansas City District Finalist in the Metropolitan National Council Opera Auditions and winning Third Place at Midwest Regional Level Competition 2002. Ms. Grable also was awarded the Encouragement Award in the 2005 Upper New Jersey District Metropolitan National Opera Auditions. Other honors include the Sigma Alpha Iota National Scholarship and the Inspiration Point Opera in the Ozarks Award in 1999 and 2000.
